Why are we actually so attached to borders? Of our little garden, of our village or of our land? We have it good and beautiful here and we would like to keep it that way. So we cordon off our territory to others.
I am reminded of things like that when I see one of those beautiful fields of wildflowers, bordered by a fence and behind it a completely flowerless lawn. Haves and have-nots. Difference between rich and poor…. It just seems like a pretty picture (and enjoy it for the most part), but it doesn’t hurt if it makes you think.
