The water tower, designed by ir. H. Sangster was completed in 1928. The client was the Provincial Water Supply Company. The tower is 51 meters high and built in Art Déco style. This water tower is considered the most beautiful in our country. The municipality of Aalsmeer owns the water tower, but it is a national monument. The Aalsmeer City Council has decided that the water tower should not be operated commercially, but should remain accessible to the public. [Source: Stichting Oud Aalsmeer]
