It is mid-April when the Cherry Blossom Festival (in Japanese: Hanami Matsuri) announces spring. The exuberantly blooming cherry blossoms of this piece of Amsterdam Forest donated in the millennium year 2000 by the Amstelveen ‘Japan Women’s Club’ made such an impression on me that it was bound to result in a new canvas.

Modern-pointillist painting in professional quality acrylic paint on 430 grs linen canvas stretched on a 4cm thick 90x90cm wooden frame. The work is finished with a high-quality acrylic varnish. The painting is specially framed; namely with a black, 2cm thick, tight wooden frame so that the painted sides remain visible. The work is signed on the front bottom right and on the back with a steel wire and thus ready to hang.
