Yellow Joy was commissioned by the Flower Art Museum to mark the Aalsmeer Flower Festival 2026. It is a contemporary interpretation of Van Gogh’s famous masterpiece, *Sunflowers*. Whereas his sunflowers stand somewhat wilted in a vase against a yellow background, my sunflowers stand in all their glory out in the field against a starkly contrasting blue background.

Modern-pointillist painting in professional quality acrylic paint on 430 grs linen canvas stretched on a 4cm thick 100x100cm wooden frame. The work is finished with a high quality acrylic varnish. The painting is specially framed; namely with a black, 2cm thick, tight wooden frame so that the painted sides remain visible. The work is signed on the front bottom right and on the back it has a steel wire and is thus ready to hang.
