We were driving on the highway between Almere and Lelystad when I was “seized. Fortunately not by a car but by a beautiful scene: a beautiful yellow verge full of rapeseed with some trees in it. I was behind the wheel so I couldn’t take a quick photo but this painting is my interpretation of that overwhelming “yellow moment. Because a moment it is. A while later the rapeseed will have finished flowering and you will have to wait another year for just such a moment….
