You walk around the polder and then are surprised by bright red poppies on a roadside among the green grass with daisies. Scenes like this from the surrounding nature are the inspiration for many of my paintings. Such a scene strikes me by certain aspects such as, in this case, the color contrast between the red of the poppies, the white/yellow of the daisies and the fresh green of the grasses.
