A polder is usually tightly arranged with straight canals, ditches and roads. Along the main canal (the main drainage to a pumping station to keep the polder dry) is usually also a main road, often also called Main Road. So too in our polder. And along that main road, not so long ago, a bicycle path/walking path was constructed consisting of large concrete slabs. Walking along that path, I noticed the hard division between the natural grass and the concrete slabs. A low but bright sun also caused the hard shadows of the grass on the concrete slabs. Only a moving plume produced a somewhat softer shadow.
