Hydrangeas

June 2021 was my participation in Dirk Hakze’s art project The Colorfield Performance. Quite a challenge: making a painting on a 122 x 122 cm panel in one day, using all colours of acrylic paint except black. Weather or no weather. On my painting day, the weather conditions presented an additional challenge. I left in torrential rain in the morning, once I arrived it was lovely and cloudy but warm, in the afternoon the sun came through and it was boiling hot and at the end of the afternoon we had to leave in a hurry because of a threatening thunderstorm…
