Are you looking for giclée prints with exceptional colour depth, sharp details and a refined finish? The giclée prints by Marcel Straver combine artistic expression with professional printing techniques, resulting in artwork that enhances your interior and remains beautiful for years. A true giclée print does not feel like a poster, it feels like a piece of art with richness, depth and character.
On this page you will learn what a giclée print is, why it is considered the best choice for fine art reproduction, and what to consider when choosing a giclée print that truly fits your space.
A giclée print is a high-quality fine art print produced using professional inkjet printers and archival pigment inks. The goal is simple, to reproduce artwork with outstanding detail, colour accuracy and longevity. This method is widely used for fine art prints because it preserves subtle gradients, textures and tonal depth.
When people search for giclee prints or giclée art prints, they often encounter a wide range of quality levels. A true giclée print stands out through its printing process, paper quality and colour precision.
The artworks of Marcel Straver rely on nuance, balance and visual harmony. These qualities require a printing technique capable of preserving detail and atmosphere. A giclée print ensures that each tone, texture and transition remains visible, allowing the artwork to retain its intended impact.
The difference is not only in price, but in quality, durability and visual depth. Posters are often produced for fast and large-scale printing. A giclée print is created to achieve accurate colour reproduction, refined detail and a premium finish. You see this in the depth of the tones, you notice it in the clarity of details, and you experience it in the overall presence of the artwork on the wall. If you are looking for art that truly contributes to your interior and remains visually strong over time, a giclée print is the better choice.
Selecting a giclée print involves more than choosing an image you like. Considering light, scale and atmosphere will help you find a piece that enhances your space.
Consider the lighting in your room
In bright rooms, subtle tones and soft transitions become more visible. In spaces with less natural light, artworks with stronger contrast and depth often stand out better. Giclée prints respond beautifully to changing light conditions, which keeps the artwork visually engaging throughout the day.
Choose the right size
A print that is too small may disappear on a large wall, while a piece that is too large can dominate the space. As a general guideline, artwork often looks balanced when it spans about two thirds of the width of the furniture beneath it, such as a sofa or sideboard.
Think about mood and atmosphere
Some artworks create calmness and harmony, while others add energy and contrast. With giclée prints, the quality of the reproduction ensures that the artwork maintains its visual strength regardless of style.
Not every print labelled as “giclée” meets fine art standards. These factors help you recognize true quality.
Choosing prints that clearly state their materials and printing methods makes it easier to ensure consistent quality.
A giclée print also makes a thoughtful and lasting gift. It is suitable for housewarmings, anniversaries or new workspaces, offering something personal without being overly specific. Because of the high quality, the artwork remains a lasting reminder rather than a temporary decoration.
How do you pronounce giclée?
It is commonly pronounced “zhee-clay”. In English, you will often see both giclée prints and giclee prints, both refer to the same technique.
Are giclée prints durable?
Yes, genuine giclée prints made with archival pigment inks are designed to last for many years. Longevity also depends on factors such as direct sunlight, humidity and framing.
What paper is best for giclée prints?
This depends on the look you prefer. Matte fine art paper provides a soft and elegant appearance, textured paper adds character, and smoother finishes can emphasize sharp detail.
